ABS (Acryl nitrate Butadiene Styrene):
A hard, tough plastic used for sidewalls and occasionally for top-sheets.

Air:
Each intentional jump from ground to the air – via a ski-jump or pipe.

Air to fakie:
Jump, landing by riding backwards.

Alley Oop:
A halfpipe manoeuvre where one rotates 180 or more degrees in an uphill direction.

Alpine-Boarding:
Riding a snowboard on a normal slope with hard boots and plate binding.

Backflip:
Salto backwards

Backside Air:
Any air performed on the backside wall of the halfpipe.

Backside Turn:
A turn where the heel edge faces to the outside of the turn while the snowboard is riding on the toe edge.

Bank:
Very flat ski-jump

Bail:
Controlled fall

Bevel:
The degree of angle to which the edges of a snowboard are tuned.

Boned:
When the leg or arm is extended or stretched to a maximum degree during a trick.

Bonk:
Bouncing off an object such as a rock, a tree, or a stump.
