Sandwich-Construction:
Term of the construction of a ski/snowboard with different
layers of material and normally use of a wood-core. Construction

Sidecut:
The difference between the width of the ski/board at the widest
point (usually near the nose) and the narrowest point (usually
in the middle of the ski/board).
Sidewall:
Usually made of ABS, connecting and seals the topsheet to
the edges of a board.
Sintered base:
High molecular-weight base formed by heating and compression
of small fragments of P-tex. Sintered bases absorb and hold
wax better and are more durable than extruded bases, but very
expensive.
Skiboard:
Short-ski with max. 100 cm length, mainly twin-tip construction,
a kind of mini-snowboard of both legs for ultimative carving
fun.
