Tail:
The rear tip of the snowboard/ski.

Tailkick:
The height of the bending of the tail

Tip:
The front end (nose) of a ski/board.

Top:
The upper part of ski/board with the graphic on it.

Torsion:
The board’s resistance to twisting over the longitudinal axis.

Torsionbox:
Construction with expensive laminates by which the wood-core will be covered lateral too. Therefore the sidewalls are strengthened additionally. Highest torsion stiffness and durable flex.

Twin Tip:
A construction type for freestyler. It has the same nose and tail so that the board/ski can be ridden in both directions.

Transition:
The radial curved section of a halfpipe wall between flat bottom and the vertical.

Tuning:
Care of a snowboard, e.g. edges, etc.

Vert:
Vertical part of a halfpipe.

Vertical Lam:
Construction type where epoxy-resin mats will be placed by hand onto a high quality wood-core. Costly procedure, therefore high torsion stiffness and durable flex.

Vitelli Turn:
Extreme carving turn: The upper part of the body touches the snow (inventor: Serge Vitelli)

Waist:
The narrowest point of ski/board, usually in the middle.

Wall:
Wall of the halfpipe

Weelie:
Riding style with the board-nose in the air.

Wipeout:
A big fall
